Hi! How are you all?
I have really enjoyed writing my blog over the last 8 weeks or so about all the epic suppliers that I have got to know over the course of my business. I hope I have given you some insight into the way we all work and hopefully inspired you to get in touch with one or two of them along the way for your upcoming weddings!
As we start entering a new faze of lockdown restrictions being relaxed things seem to be moving a little and I feel like we are on the edge of starting to be able to move forward albeit slowly but surely.
I have been blown away by the amount of enquiries I have received over the last few months which is so heartening because it means we are all look forward to the future of Weddings and celebrating with our loved ones for sure!
So I want to continue to give you inspiration of the Wedding kind with my short blog posts - I will be featuring real weddings, wedding shoots and some just filled with flower knowledge and ideas that you can hopefully get creative with and use as inspiration in your planning.
So to start.......
I have featured a few sneak peaks of this wedding on my Insta page but I have just been dying to blog about it!
Kate and Sam - 13.3.2019
Kate came to me with a firm plan in her head about how she wanted her Wedding to 'feel' from a design point of view this was heaven. I work much better on making things 'feel' right and if I do say so I think Kate and I made a pretty good team! She was brimming with ideas but ultimately there was to be Lemons, Lavender and a whole truck load of Olive to create her dream Italian inspired Wedding.
So the plan started around some bottles I have in my glassware collection - these were to be the table centre pieces arranged around boxes of filled with lemons. They were subtle but really did bring the whole scheme together. That was really the only subtle part of the arrangements! Everything else was bold and big and I loved every part of it! Definatley go big or go home!
Kates words were that her bouquet had to be huge! Her beautiful Wedding Dress was sleek and simple coupled together with a custom made cape by buttonbowsewing so anything less than a statement bouquet full of Olive just would not have been enough! This simple bouquet of olive was anything but simple it was just exquisite and the overall impact of the bouquet with Kates eye for detail was just stunning. The handle of the bouquet was tied with Kates go to gold thread and silk ribbon making the whole bouquet very bespoke to her.
To incorporate the lavender into the theme I made lavender and olive bouquets with silk bow handles for the bridesmaids, together with their lavender boho styled dresses and custom made olive crowns they looked stunning and smelled amazing - in actual fact the ride down to deliver the bouquets was probably my most chilled one yet because of the calming properties of the lavender filing my car!
Not forgetting the smallest of the bridesmaids with her olive and craspedia wand!
For the ceremony I made lemon and Olive Chair ties which made such an impact to the room along with a huge olive drape to adorn the ceremony table. Kate sourced a second hand glass urn which I filled with yet more olive to finish off the whole look of the ceremony room.
Sam and his groomsmen wore craspedia, olive and lavender buttonholes.
Downstairs for the reception the olive theme continued with a full table runner with lemons lined the top table and olive and lemons attached to the copper frame Kate had sourced to sit behind the bride and groom for the wedding breakfast.
It is no secret that next to flowers my next favourtie thing is cake (eating not making unfortunately for my waistline!) So I was so pleased to see this lemon inspired cake made by the incredible cake angel which we decorated with more olive and lemons to make it a real feature piece next to the top table - always a must to make your cake a part of the overall decor!!
Overall this whole wedding was a dream and Kate and Sam were a dream to work with - although the arrangements were added to and evolved as we worked together along the whole planning process Kate kept to her initial concept of lemons, olive and lavender - we just got creative and worked together to get the whole vibe and 'feel' right with all the other elements in place which made it an absolute dream Italian inspired wedding.
